Log Cabin addiction, PSQ blocks, WIP's and finishes

As you may have noticed, I have not blogged for 2 months! I've had a terrible dry spell from blogging and I believe we all do at times, don't we?

The most important and happy news is that our beloved cat returned home after 2 weeks! (See my previous post). We are quite sure someone in the area had taken him! Fortunate no wounds, but he had lost weight and was so hungry and thirsty when he returned. It took him 3-4 days to recover and those days he didn't want to go outside.  Needless to say how happy we are to have him home!

These two months have flown by too fast. In June I celebrated my birthday with a hike in the Black River Gorges together with dear friends. At the end of June DH & I did another long hike in the Gorges and this month we met our German friends who spent their honeymoon at one of the Beachcomber hotels here. First time we met Grit was in 2009 when she stayed with us for about two weeks. After 5 years she's back together with her husband - newly weds - isn't that sweet?!

I've been busy sewing and here is just a few of my WIP's and finishes.
I got a lot done during the weekend and here is the scrappy disappearing pinwheel quilt thread basted and ready to be quilted. The flimsy was done in February, so it's time to finish it. Still not sure how to quilt it.... Any suggestions?

Progress on the Postage Stamp Quilt!
Here are 8 new blocks - 288 2.5 inch squares.

I have 26 blocks - 36 squares in each block - 936 squares! (One block I didn't add on the photo).
Love the scrappy look!

My latest addiction is log cabin blocks!
This is one I started working on earlier this year, but ran out of the light purple fabric. I have got more and can continue. Not sure what I'm going to make or how to do the pattern, I shall see when I have more blocks.
It is black, white and purple... Far outside my comfort zone, but I find it interesting. I think it's going to be a beautiful quilt when done.

A scrappy Christmas log cabin quilt - it's going to be...
Yet to decide on size and pattern on this one too.

A few finishes...

Rooster mug rugs - set of 2

Rooster wall hanging
I have used leftover fabrics from the custom order I made earlier this year. Feels good to use up bits and pieces and these roosters are just too cute! :)

A Loralie mug rug

Feels good to do a blog post after such a long time.
My coffee mug is empty so I think it is time to do some serious sewing, unless I get sidetracked! :)
