A few finishes

I have been so busy with all those charms (cutting and shipping) for the April swap as well as doing some house works, so I haven't had much time for quilting - I mean; bigger projects.
I have made a few small projects though;
a pair of pot holders. I still have fabrics left from Debbie Mumm's 'Rustic Retreat' and I thought those cute houses will be nice for smaller projects.

I'm working on a table runner using chocolate prints, but ran out of coordinating fabric, which I'm expecting any day now... While waiting, I made a pair of mug rugs, using leftover fabrics.

I don't do much stitchery, which is something I love to do. A friend's birthday is approaching, she's an avid garderner, so I thought this little stitchery will do as a birthday gift.

Yesterday afternoon I pulled out some fabric I purchased earlier this year. (Forgot to take photos).
When I purchased the fabric, I had in mind to make a table topper / runner. After some 'deep-thinking' I ended up making four placemat and today I'm going to finish the table runner top...

700 charms in the mailbox! PSQ QAL

Yesterday was like Christmas, birthday and I don't know what else! As the headline says; 700 charms in the mailbox! Yes, at one day! I was busy cutting more squares when DH returned from town / post office with all those treasures! They all are from my swap partners in the US. Last week I received 300 charms, from the US and Australia.
Yes, cutting more squares for the July swap! These are all fabric swatches from that box I was gifted last year. They are too small to be used for other things, so they are all cut into 2.5 inch and a few 2 inch charms.

2300 charms flew out of Mauritius to the US, Canada and Australia earlier this month. It's so true, so true what one swapper said; 'Excitement all over the world'! :)
It's not too late to join the fun! Mary over at The Curious Quilter is hosting the PSQ Charm Swap and Challenge. You can read more about it here.

NNC is hosting a PSQ QAL (Postage Stamp Quilt - Quilt Along) this year.
Some of those participating are cutting charms, while others are doing it the easy way; jelly rolls. When the QAL was decided, I already had one jelly roll; 'Evening Mist'. I needed one more jelly roll and ended up with Moda Solids 'Natural'.

So far I have sewn the strips together and they are now ready to be cut.

Days are cooler and 'winter' is approaching. Our first hike of the season took place last Saturday, and you can read more about that here.

Table runner and mug rugs

After finishing the Polar bear quilt, Postage Stamp quilt and other UFO's, it feels good working on something new and smaller projects. I still have a couple of UFO's to finish, but they will have to wait! :)
I love making tablecloths and I have just finished a table runner in berry pink fabric displaying delicious pieces of cakes.

From leftover fabric I made two mug rugs...
...and what was still left I cut into 2 and 2.5inch charms

I love making mug rugs as well... and here are some summer-ly mug rugs.
The fabrics I have used are swatches from a shop sale (remember the box I got from my friend last year?)

If you want to know what I'm doing when I'm not quilting, take a look here.
