Hello everyone! I'm back!
I can't believe I haven't done a blog post since beginning of august! If you read that post, you know my 'Dear Nina' (Bernina 440 QE) was sick and had to go to a spa in South Africa. She has reached the spa and waiting for either good or bad news about what can be done.
Good news is, I purchased a new Bernina; 770 QE PLUS! Her name is 'Helena'. I got her in August and I very happy! It has a lot of features I most probably never will use. I have yet to explore a lot, at least I know how to do the basics.
The last week I've been catching up on RSC (Rainbow Scrap Challenge) for July, August and September. Not all blocks are done, the 'plan' (unless it fails!) is to do more blocks this weekend.
First up is Sherri McConnells BOM 2025
I don't have much aqua, I've used a mix of aqua, turquoise and teal
I got carried away making these blocks
Eight aqua/turquoise and teal blocks
More updates on RSC to come.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Having a sick machine is no fun. It looks like the new one is working nicely though! Nice progress on your blocks. It is especially fun to get a bit carried away from time to time.
So glad to hear you have a lovely new machine and can get back to playing. Hopefully your old one can be fixed so you have a backup.
Great job catching up! It sure gets complicated when you have to ship your machine so far away for repair. I think getting carried away is just the normal, right?
That's exciting to get a new machine and it looks like it's working! Those BOM blocks are really pretty, Astrid. Good to see a post from you!
Glad you are happy with your new machine--i find that the learning curve can be high when you first see all those screens and buttons etc!! At least for me...
I've had Helga (Viking Sapphire) for over 10 years now and am STILL finding new things--yikes talk about a slow learner, right? Hahaha...
Lovely blocks all--you are working on...I especially like how you've used those little sqs. pattern...hugs Julierose
I love both the blocks you chose to make for the 2025 RSC. What a great idea to make a mini block as the chimney unit for a Log Cabin quilt. Should make for a stunning quilt.
Welcome back! I had noticed you missing in action for a while, and hoped that all was well with you. Machine woes are frustrating and getting to grips with a brand new machine even more so. You got lots of lovely blocks finished, well done.
First time posting. I enjoy Sheri's BOMs, but never thought to do them as an RSC! What a great idea. I think this year's works especially well with rainbow colors.
I’ve been wondering how you and Nina were doing! Hopefully you will know soon enough, but in the meantime I’m glad you’re working with and learning about your new machine. Your blocks are absolutely gorgeous, Astrid! Hugs from Utah!
great rsc projects
hope your older machine can be fixed so you will have a back up machine to work with sorry though that it has to be sent out of country to get it fixed though! I'm having server issues with my blog so if you visit you migt need to come back later.
Congratulations on the new Bernina. How exciting!! All of your blocks look great. I didn't do the Sherri McConnell BOM this year, and now I regret it. I think I can go back and save the block patterns, not sure. Looking forward to seeing more RSC blocks. Welcome back to blogland :)
lHow beautiful!
