As the title says; these are the last RSC blocks for 2025
'Coffee with Dad'
I love these blocks! They are so fun and fast to make
7 brown blocks
As you can see, two of them have more red than brown.
8 black blocks
Corrected to 7 blocks
Hm... How did that happen? Do you see it? Cup #3 first row and #1 second row are the same! I made one only! Messed up when I took the photos.
I'm a bit lost when it comes to it. How do I explain that? I have an idea how to assemble the blocks. With that idea, I don't think I can make all blocks beforehand. When the time comes, I will lay out the blocks I have already made, see what other colors fit in and make them.
15 quarter circle blocks - purple / aqua / turquoise / brown
Half circles
1 aqua / turquoise
3 brown / teal
More of these blocks. I've lost count; a lot of 2.5" squares used up. There are 20 in each block. These blocks are going together with the 36-patches I've made earlier
Hollow 9-patches
2 Light blue blocks
4 Brown blocks
1 Black block
Do you have any plans for RSC 2026?
It's so easy getting carried away making blocks, I have lost track of what I have made! I need to put all those blocks together, that would be my main goal for 2026. For RSC, maybe only one block, I'm thinking of the Friendship block. Still some months to go to decide.
These are the potholders I made for a DF in Norway
I couldn't post photos earlier because he wanted them to be a surprise. The package is now delivered.
HAPPY QUILTING!

I'm definitely in planning mode for 2026 already. All of your blocks from this month will fit in beautifully with this year's projects. I know I'll have some block sets that I'll continue to make in 2026 because I need more to make a decent size quilt. Or just because I like to make certain blocks, like the Hollow 9.
Love "Coffee with Dad" blocks. It will be a very cool quilt when assembled. The 2.5" squares blocks are awesome. I usually have plan for the next RSC year when October comes but not this year. I need to finish some things and reorganize a lot of "corners" in my sewing room. Take care and enjoy whatever project you are working on. ;^)
Lots of lovely projects on the go there, Astrid. I am hoping to finish my "Falling Leaves" wall hanging ; pin basting it now. My hands are troubling me so slow going. but i hope to at least find backings for all my little projects this week. Would love to start the new year with a clean slate--hah==really???
hugs, Julierose
Those eclipse blocks are going to make an amazing quilt, Astrid! I love those potholders for your friend, too - they really shout fall. I'm always thinking ahead to the new year of block making. It's fun to try the new ones out ahead of time!
it looks like you have a lot of projects going!!
I know what you mean about merrily stitching RSC blocks each month then getting overwhelmed with them all. I've got so many blocks from previous years that still need stitched up into quilts!
I always like your Coffee With Dad blocks. And I also enjoy seeing all the different bloggers playing with the RSC colours each year. Not something I can do with my limited stash though.
I’ve been thinking too. But I need to finish some. Maybe I’ll try one finish a month and crumb blocks? Or something. 🙂
Dear Astrid, I love all of these. Beautiful colours and patterns. I really appreciate your talent and taste.
What a lovely collection of blocks, Astrid. I especially like the Coffee With Dad blocks. I’ve been long-term planning (quilting bucket list) to make a coffee mug Christmas wall hanging, but after all yours, I’m thinking I’ll ditch the holiday theme and just make a colorful variety of cup clocks, leaning toward the darker, more masculine prints. It would make a good future gift for any male family member or friend. Like you, I’ve been mulling over block ideas for RSC ‘26. Naturally, I always have strings and crumbs, but I know I’ll also include at least one little basic house pattern to go along with our Quilter’s Cove/RSC sew-along. I think we need to start mentioning that more!! (Totally my bad)
Nice progress on all of your blocks. I really like the Coffee with Dad blocks, but I think I've said that before. The potholders are a lovely gift. I'm sure they will be treasured.
