January Blues continue into February.
This post was meant for previous Saturday, but that didn't happen.
UFO #12 - Star Streams is finished!
It was supposed to be a RSC (Rainbow Scrap Challenge), but I changed my mind and made it in blue and white instead.
Quilted in crosshatch design with 1.5" between each seam
The photo didn't turn out the best. Here's another photo, after the backing was done.
- First blocks made: January 2023
- Flimsy: December 2024
- Quilted: January 2026
- Finished: January 31, 2026
At the beginning of the week I received the white fabrics I'd ordered and finished up this block and others (below).
A Quilting Life - BOM 2026
How is it possible to ignore a blue and white scrappy quilt?
I couldn't, and here is the result:
The beginning of 'True Blue'
It's a QAL, but can also be done at your own pace.
I've finished Unit #1.
5 easy 9-patches pieced together with sashing
...and Unit #2
9 easy 9-patches + borders
... and part of Unit #3
1.5" strips and squares sewn together.
I've made 2, need to make another 4 blocks

Your Quilting Life BOM is fun. Beautiful finish using all those blues. I too am working on the True Blue quilt along. I'm at the point where I need to cut my strips. Rotary cutter has a new blade in it. This is the part I was not looking forward to because of all the cutting and matching of seams. But it will be a beauty in the end. Can't wait to see yours.
Your "Star Streams" is a gorgeous quilt! Great choice on the backing too.
Congrats on getting Star Streams across the finish line. It's gorgeous and I love it all in blue. I'm with you on blue and white quilts; how can we resist? You have so many parts done already for True Blue. It's growing fast. Enjoy! ;^)
Star Streams is beautiful! I love a blue & white quilt. You've got plenty of RSC projects to keep you busy this year, happy stitching!
Hi Astrid;))) Lovely blue and white quilt and blocks in progress also;)))
It is snowing like "gangbusters" here again this morning..3" so far and still coming down...We are having a real old fashioned wintry Winter.
Hunkering down and doing some sewing...hugs, Julierose
oooooh - I love Star Streams!!! Blue is my favourite colour so of course I love it, plus it's an interesting design overall. It will be fun to see your other blue project progress too.
The start streams turned out beautifully! I opted for a quilt top for Jan but still getting the urge to do the overall rainbow style ,Feb may turn into a top as well🤣Happy quilting to you!
Star Streams is a beautiful finish, Astrid! I love all those scrappy blues together. True Blue is going to be a beauty, too. Enjoy!
Dear Astrid, I absolutely love your finish. Really beautiful.
I love your stars and patchwork - beautiful pattern and color choice
What's not to love about Star Streams. Every time I look at it, I see something new. Love the scrappy nature of the blues and the variety of star blocks.
Beautiful blues! Is there anything better than a blue and white quilt? Love the pieced back too.
Astrid I love that quilt and the backing is wonderful!
Star Dreams is such a lovely quilt, congratulations on your gorgeous finish.
Thank you, Chantal! I'm glad I did it in blue and white and not the RSC colors. I'm drowning on RSC blocks, getting them into quilts is my priority this year.
Thank you, Linda!
Oh my goodness! Star Streams is stunning, Astrid. All of your blocks look great. I saved AQL's block patterns from last year. I may have to start making some.
Astrid, Star Streams is gorgeous! So glad you finished it. I love the backing. It's such a great way to use up fabric. Perfect!!!
Star Streams looks fantastic!! I think your idea to go all blue was a good choice.
That BOM really does have pretty blocks and so many lovely blues you have to use too, Astrid. Happy Stitching, J
