Kris Kringle Panel Kit - Progress / Card Holder

Happy October!
How is it we are into October already?! I'm not sure how that happened?!

This week I've been working on the Kris Kringle Panel Kit
UFO #19 on my 2026 UFO list

I usually don't buy kits, but I couldn't resist this cute guy!
I love Teresa Kogut designs. I haven't done any of her cross stitching designs, not yet, but I have a few I really want to purchase. Maybe a Christmas gift to myself?!

The top is done

The pattern is well written and very easy to follow. I was a bit worried about the panel, they can be quite distorted and difficult to cut to size. Fortunate, it was only about half an inch off at the top, so there wasn't any problem getting it straight. The top came together without any problem.

I thought I had to purchase backing. I knew I had more yardage in a box, but I had totally forgotten I had purchased backing too,

...as well as a FQ bundle! Yippee!
Why I bought the yardage & bundle?? I can't remember what I bought it for! I may have had a pattern in mind? Or 'just because' I love the fabrics so much? Hm...

Today I must check if I have batting enough. I really want to finish it, and that is my goal for October!

After struggling with the pattern, I'm happy to say the Card Holder is 99.9% completed! I'll do a post when it is done.

Your Kris Kringle quilt is so fun, Astrid! I'm glad the panel was easy to work with. You found lots of bonus fabric in your search - I'll enjoy seeing what you do with it!

Astrid, I love your Kris Kringle Panel Kit! I’m usually not into Santa, but this one is so beautiful! Yes, you should definitely gift yourself the cross stitch design! As our family started to grow, we decided the adults would participate in a Secret Santa gift exchange. The app my daughter uses for us allows all of us to add a link to the items we would like to receive. Of course, we put a limit on the cost.
Your fabric is lovely! I also like your card holder! Happy stitching!

So cute and whimsical! You are lucky the panel wasn’t wonky —I have experienced that more than once. And, you have extra fabric and backing. You are off to a great start!

Så fint det blir! Det minner meg på at jeg har et kit til et applikert vinterbilde liggende nesten ferdig et sted. Jeg vant det i en give away, tror jeg, for veldig lenge siden. Må se om jeg kan finne det og gjøre det ferdig.

Such a cute panel! It's so nice you have everything you need to finish this up. I'm sure you'll finish this up soon. You're making great progress on your UFOs!

What fun to discover you'd already thought ahead and have the finishing fabrics all ready to go. He's definitely a cute Santa (and now I'm curious about her cross stitch designs so will have to check that out).

I love all things Teresa Kogut. Your Kris Kringle is so pretty. The trees and stars are a great addition to the panel. I look forward to seeing the card holder all finished. Have a great day, Astrid!

Lovely work with your panel. And very pleasing that it wasn't out of shape.
Great result.
