Hello everyone! Have you missed me? lol
I can't believe my previous blog post is dated beginning June! Where did those weeks go?! It was not my intention not to blog, it just happened without any particular reason.
July has kept me busy making Advent Calendars for my Etsy Shop. There are some new calendars this year and some that sold out last year. So far 36 (no, it's not a math mistake!) calendars are done, left to sew binding on some. The pockets can be a bit tedious, but it is mindless sewing and I do love making them.
Sewing took a break at the beginning of July. DH and I were down with a sort of 'plague'. It may have been Covid or a flu, we didn't bother to get tested. I'm back to normal but DH's coughing is dragging a bit although he is much better.
July and the color red is at its end. I don't have a big variety of Red either (mostly Christmas reds) - same with orange - but enough to make the blocks for the Swirling Star Quilt.
What else have I done in red? Not scrappy, but they are red! :) Two Advent Calendars

Backing is red dots on white, from my stash.
This weekend I'll take a break from Advent Calendars and finish up some Halloween / Fall items - she said hopefully! lol

I have looked at your advent calendars and they are pretty - you put a lot of work into them - it is hard to imagine summer is almost over when it is so hot everywhere. I hope you didn't have covid but I had heard a lot of people are getting sick this summer but not bad - mostly like a summer cold.
You certainly have been busy!! Just lovely items..in your shop and on your blog, too...
Funny how the weeks just seem to fly by...hugs, Julierose
The swirling stars are a pretty block! And the Advent calendars are amazing. Hope they sell well for you!
Love the swirling star as a RSC challenge block. They should result in a stunning quilt once all the blocks are done.
Swirling stars are so fun in red! Love your advent calendars. Glad you are recovered from the bug you got. My son had something this week but thankfully it was a 12-24 hour bug and he stayed in his room. I hope the cough eases up quickly.
36 advent calendars?? Wow!! That's a LOT. So sorry you and your DH got some sort of plague...it seems like there's a lot of 'stuff' going around. No doubt people, after being so careful for so long, are busy catching everything they missed.
Glad you and DH are improving! Those coughs can last a long time! Loving that Scandi 2023 calendar! It’s gorgeous!
So sorry to read that you and your hubby were sick. Hope his cough goes away soon.
Your advent calendars are stunning, Astrid!
I always enjoy seeing the red blocks. Have fun with the next ones.
