RSC Coffee with Dad - WIP

Now that 'Swirling Stars' (RSC UFO #11) is near completion (waiting for ordered thread), I continue working on my UFOs and WIPs
I accomplished a lot in January, thanks to all the rainy days. What's better stay inside and sew?!

Some days ago, one particular blogpost comment caught my eyes: Viola at Barwitzki Family challenged me to work on 'Coffee With Dad' - RSC UFO #26, her birthday!
Challenge accepted! Thank you, Viola!

Some coffee cup blocks have been trimmed today and laid out on the sewing table.
The original size is 72 inches / 183 cm. I've decided to make it smaller; lap quilt size, about 60 inches wide, I think...
I got carried away making these cute coffee cups blocks, which of course, resulted in way too many! It may be two quilts!

LOOK AT THIS!!!! LOL

How do you hold this cup?! Definitely not in the handle! LOL
I'm quite sure I was tired when I made this one! I did not even notice the handle was sewn on the wrong way when I took the photos for the blogpost last September! Such a stupid mistake!
I'll redo it, it's an easy fix.

I love the print on the "broken" handle cup. You are doing great with your UFO list. You rock it. ;^)

I always enjoyed seeing your progress on Coffe with Dad. The backwards cup handle is totally something I would do. Kuddos to you for moving through the UFO / WiP list.

I remember when you were making these. They are a fun design. Two quilts sounds good.

Dear Astrid, the mugs are fantastic.
I love them, and maybe I'll sew some myself sometime... you know, I love drinking coffee so much...
I'd also like to make that upside-down mug again :-))) Oh dear, I've already taken so many things apart :-)))
Best wishes and have a happy weekend!

Glad to see a return of 'Coffee with Dad' - too funny when you pointed out the 'broken' cup. If it were me, I'd be seriously tempted to leave it the way it is, if only to create a conversation.

Your Coffee with Dad blocks have always been some of my favorites, too! I hope you'll fix that broken handle so no one drops their coffee! 😊

The paisley fabric on the broken handle cup is pretty! That is a very fun little quirk to have worked into the quilt. I love it. I have only seen your brown mugs before and didn’t realize the project was so colorful overall. It’s really cute!
